Youssoufa Moukoko has scored a goal. In the summer of 2025, this statement is certainly justified, as the former German striker had to wait a long time for such a personal success.
Nine months after scoring a goal for the German U21 team on November 15th in the Aachen Tivoli against Denmark ( 3-0 ), the now 20-year-old Moukoko celebrated the 3-1 victory of his new club FC Copenhagen in the Danish league match against FC Nordsjaelland .
A huge weight was lifted from the shoulders of the attacker, who had joined from Borussia Dortmund . "I've had a lot of chances recently, and now it finally worked out," said Moukoko after his first goal, the equalizer (59th minute), which would mark the turnaround for FC. "It was obviously great to score my first goal for the club."
His teammates Pantelis Hatzidiakos and Yoram Zague secured the victory for the capital city team in the final quarter of an hour, which underlined their first place in the Danish top flight with their fourth win in five games.
Double in Ligue 1At club level, Moukoko, who moved from Dortmund to Copenhagen for five million euros, had to wait a good deal longer for a goal. His last appearance on the scoresheet was in September 2024, in a match for French first division club OGC Nice . He even scored twice in the southern French club's stunning 8-0 victory over AS St. Etienne – but those would be his only successful experiences during his loan from Dortmund to Ligue 1.
It all worked out again on Friday evening in the small Danish town of Farum. At FC Nordsjaelland's "Right to Dream Park" in front of 6,687 fans. A stadium name that lets Moukoko dream? "I'd like to continue that," said the Cameroonian-born player after his header. "So hopefully it was just one of many, many goals for FC Copenhagen."
From his point of view, the best time will be on Wednesday, when he and his team will face the Swiss double winners FC Basel and his former Dortmund teammate Moritz Broschinski in the Champions League play-offs .
